Joint letter from EU industry: European energy taxation should reflect the climate impact of energy carriers

ePURE joined a broad group of 18 EU associations in signing an open letter on the revision of the Energy Taxation Directive and how it should reflect the climate impact of energy carriers.

"To achieve the European Union's ambitious climate targets," the letter states, "it is essential to accelerate the progressive substitution of fossil fuels with the production of sustainable alternatives such as Renewable and Low-Carbon Fuels, including all sustainable gaseous and liquid fuels, by putting in place favourable tax incentives."
