European ethanol industry statement on COVID-19

The EU’s ethanol producers join other European agricultural and industrial sectors in supporting the need for a coordinated response to COVID-19.

Across the EU, our member companies are cooperating fully with national authorities where needed to ensure the production and supply of ethyl alcohol for hand sanitizer and other hygienic uses, including by unlocking stocks and increasing production to respond to higher demand and by producing hand gel.

Locally produced, renewable ethanol is an important agricultural product and part of the European bioeconomy, and we stand in solidarity with public health officials, health care providers and local authorities working to contain the virus.
