How to hit those higher emissions-reduction targets

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen just raised the stakes significantly in the EU drive for carbon-neutrality by 2050, setting much higher targets for emissions reduction over the next decade.
In other words, an already tough task just got tougher. Making the Green Deal real will require rethinking the way the EU approaches renewable energy, clean mobility and energy taxation policy. And it will require making an impact not only in the coming decades, but also in the last few months of this year.
