Poland is the latest EU country to adopt E10 petrol blend to reduce emissions

08.02.2024

Poland has joined the ranks of EU countries where E10 petrol blend – containing up to 10% renewable ethanol – is available for motorists, helping reduce GHG emissions from cars. Since the beginning of 2024 drivers of petrol and hybrid cars in Poland have had the option of choosing climate-friendly E10 at petrol pumps nationwide.

With the addition of Poland, 19 EU countries plus the U.K. now have adopted the E10 petrol standard. The fuel works in nearly all petrol and hybrid cars on the road today. It requires no new infrastructure and delivers immediate emissions-reduction results: renewable ethanol from ePURE members reduced GHG emissions by more than 78% compared to fossil petrol in 2022.
